A THREATENED STRIKE.

The Canterbury Iron Moulders' Union have passed a resolution that, in view of the unsatisfactory answer received from the Minister of Defence re the compulsory clauses of the Defence Act, a plebiscite be taken on a proposal to cease production on and after Labor Day, unless the compulsory clauses are repealed, and that other unions and societies be asked to take similar action.
