AMERICAN POLITICS
THE BRITISH AMBASSADOR. By Association—Copyright. London, May 2. Notice of question has been given in the House of Commons as to whether Mr. Bryce, British Ambassador to the United States, was aware of President Taft's intention to make Canada an adjunct to the United States when he recommended the acceptances of the reciprocity scheme. The Evening News, repeating current reports, suggests that Mr. Bryce's departure to Australia is a prelude to his accepting a peerage and re-entering British politics. It states that his position bas become impossible since the failure of the treaty, and that threequarters of Mr. Bryce's time is occupied with Canadian affairs.
