A Reuter message from its Pekin correspondent states that there are growing indications that Tangshaoyi is endeavoring to assume a dictatorship, relegating Yuan-Shih-Kai to the background. Tangshaoyi demands unlimited funds, with normal supervision. Shengyuan, a fanatical Kansu leader and bellicose native, the press declares, beheaded his son for professing Republicanism.
