OPENING OF THE SEASON. The football season will be official! opened in Taranaki this afternoon, who the cup competition in the Norther Division will be commenced. Only on senior match will eventuate, that bi tween Clifton and Stratford, at Stral lord. The secretary of the Tukap Rugby Football Club has received advic that the Inglewood Club has withdraw its senior fifteen from the competitor The-projected .match between the tw clubs at Inglewood to-day has accord mgly been abandoned. The Tukapa Clui has also notified the Inglewood Club tha it will not be able to send a secon. junior team to Inglewood, and tha match has also fallen through. Ingle wood is, however, sending a junior tean to New Plymouth to fulfil its engage ■ent against the Tukapa juniors thi afternoon.
