ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Wednesday. Sydney Charles Rees, aged 40, a married man, living in Church street, North East Valley, committed suicide yesterday. His daughter states that he had been acting strangely of late. He left her for a minute and almost at once she heard a gun shot, and found him shot through the heart.
A SPORTSMAN SHOT. Wanganui, Wednesday. A young man named Sinclair was accidentally shot in the leg this morning while duck shooting. He was conveyed to the hospital. His injuries are not thought to be serious. SUICIDE BY SHOOTING. Dunedin, Last Night. At the inquest on the body of Sydney Charles Rees, who shot himself at North East Valley yesterday, the evidence showed that deceased had been suffering from melancholia for some time. A verdict was returned that death was due to a gunshot wound in the rc«ion of the heart, self-inflicted while temporarily insane. LYSOL POISONING. Auckland, Last Night. At the inquest on a yo'itofe woman named May Miller, who died in a hotel on Tuesday, n verdict was returned of death by lysol poisoning, self-administer-ed while temporarily deranged.
