AVENUE ROAD CLUB. The following report will l»e presented at the annual meeting of the above club on Wednesday evening next:—ln presenting the fifth annual report of the Avenue Road Card Club the membera should be very proud of its year's workj ing. The season has been a most successful one, both financially and in the tournament. The club handled £lO 19s Id for the season, the chief items of which were: Donations £2 16s, members' fees £3. The expenses for the year were £9 3s 3d, the chief items being, presentation £1 2s 6d, funeral notices and wreaths £2 0s 6d, and.a good sum was spent on entertaining. During the season fifteen matches were played, the club winning ten, losing four, and drawing one, finishing second in the championship. Altogether 901 games of euchre were played, the club winning 505 and losing 396, thus winning 109 games more than they lost. The cribbage team pkyed 1042 games, winning 534, losing 508, thus winning 26 games more than they lost. The thanks of the club are again due to Mr. and Mrs. Richards for their kind use of the room, and to all others who assisted in any way during the season. They are also due to the president and vice-presidents for their great assistance right throughout the year, and to the press for their reports.
