The bloodiest battle of the insurrection is proceeding in the Tepic district, where 2000 followers of Zapata are desperately attempting to capture the town. There has been heavy fighting in the streets. The big cathedral collapsed under artillery fire. There has been great loss of life, and much looting of stores is proceeding, A British warship is en route to the Mexican coast to protect the lives of British subjects, A second warship is expected to be despatched.
