TROUBLE IN FEZ

A SENSATIONAL EXPERIENCE. RESTORING ORDER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Fez, April 26. During the mutiny two French lieutenants and two veterinary surgeons barricaded themselves in a room in a hotel without windows. When the door yielded to the mob they escaped into a sewer leading to the river. After being without food and water for forty-eight hours they emerged in safety. The Sheerefian troops at Fez have been disbanded and replaced by the occupation troops. The new Pasha is energetically arresting the guilty and restoring order. The French losses included 65 killed. A squadron of 175 Sheerefian cavalry at Sukelarba deserted with horses, arms and baggage.
