ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
KICKED BY A HOUSE. By Telegraph—Press Association, Woodville, Last Night. A man named Andy O'Mara, an old resident, was kicked in the abdomen yesterday and was sent to the Pahiatua hospital to-day in a very serious condition. HUSHED BY A BULL. Gisbome, Friday. Mr. W. B. Hingeton, a stock inspector, who was rushed and trampled on by a bullock at the Mataiwhero saleyards a few days agfo, is in a critical condition, and is not expected to live.
ALCOHOLIC POISONING. Hamilton, Friday. J. R. Palmer, a contractor, aged sfi, died suddenly at the deviation works on 'j-uosdav night. At the inquest a verdict <j. 5 death from chronic alcoholic poisoning was returned. Deceased was a heavy drinker of schnapps. DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE. Dunedin, Friday. An old man named AYiHiam Bateman, a rabbiter, was found dead in his hut at Mount Pisa. He probably died from heart disease. DEADLY HOP BEER. Auckland, Friday. Mrs. Angus Nicholson, aged 00 years, and Mrs. C. Little, aged GO, after drinking hop beer at Takapuna yesterday, were taken suddenly 111, and both became unconscious. In the case of Mrs. Nicholson medical aid was of no avail, and she died at 3 o'clock this morning. 'Mrs. Little's condition is critical. Two other ladies in the party, who had tea instead of hop beer, suffered no ill effects.
