ACCIDENT TO A CHILD. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Monday. Through the overturning of a gig, the infant child of J. Francis sustained concussion of the brain. It is not expected to live. A NATIVE INJURED. Tauranga, Monday. A native lad named Solomon October, employed in a flaxmill near Te Puke, was caught in the scutching machinery on Friday. He had his arm torn off, necessitating amputation of the limb at the shoulder. A SHOOTING FATALITY. Wellington, Last Night. An old man named John Crawford, for several years engaged in the cycle trade at Gore, was found this morning near Otamita with a bullet wound in the head. He was removed to the hospital, but succumbed an hour later. A repeating rifle was lying beside the body and there was a small box of bullets in his pocket. An inquest will be held.
