TARANAKI RIFLES
1 —- tT CAMP AT lIAWERA TO-DAY. The New Plymouth units of the Tara- - naki Territorials go into camp along with other corps at Hawera to-day. ', They will parade at the Drill Hall at 1.15 p.m., and subsequently entrain. Country territorials will be picked up en route to Hawera. It is anticipated that a large number will be under canvas, and, if reports are true, everything 1 is being done to provide all reasonable comfort for the troops, many of whom ar-e attending camp at no small personal sacrifice. A post and telegraph office will be established on the grounds for the convenience of all ranks. The standing orders provide that no alcoholic liquor is on any account to be brought into camp. Soft drinks, however, will be on tap. All of the equipment for the troops has not yet arrived, and the men are in hopes that the balance, including much-needed overcoats, will be served out at the camp. Much attention is being centred by the general public on the camp, which is the first of its kind held l as far as New Plymouth is concerned since the Territorial Act has been in! operation. I
