Tin plates 14s 3d and 15s 3d, fencing wire 100s, iron bars 140s, wire netting 53s oy>d and 2>/ 2 to 5 per cent, off list. Antimony, £7. Quicksilver, £8 12s Gd. Wool—Twenty-six thousand and fortynine bales catalogued and 24,084 sold to date. Prices are firm. Continental buyers are operating eagerly in merinos. The fleece portion of the Doonholm clip brought, top price 10d, average 9y 2 d, Monga'tore 9y 2 d and Od, Whakaki lOMs'd and 9%d, Ngaturi lOd and 9%d, Gear 15y 2 d and ll%d. Wheat.—Two Australian cargoes sold at 39s and 40s respectively.

(Following is the High Commissioner's ca/blegram, under date London, April 13 unless otherwise specified, being average market prices on spot)':— (Mutton.—The market is quiet but steady. Light weights are reported to be in small supply. Canterbury is not quoted, but the average price is nominally 4V 2 d North Island 4d for light weights, for heavy weights 3%i. Lamib. —The market is firm, with good demand for all lamb. Canterbury 5%d, other than Canterbury 5%d. Beef—The beef market is firm, with better demand for beef. New Zealand hinds 4y B d, fores 3%d.

Butter.—Tthe market is dull, with less demand. Holders are disposed to meet buyers. The average price for the week for choicest New Zealand butter is 121s, Australian 117s, Argentina 116s, Danish 128 a, Siberian 117 a.

Cheese. —Good demand. Average price for the week for finest New Zealand cheese 7Ss fid.

Hemp.—Market very firm, and nothing doing. Spot New Zealand, good fair grade £2l 10s, fair grade £2O, fair current Manila £2l. Forward shipment New Zealand good fair grade £2O 12s 6d, fair grade £2O ss, fair current Manila £2l 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 26,000 bales. The stock of New Zealand hemp is 289 tons. Kauri Gum.—(Market steadier. Dark brown selected re-scraped £6 to £B, dark brown three-quarter scraped 85s to 05s, dark brown chips dross 30s to 40s, re-scraped pale amber £lB to £8 10s, three-quarter pale scraped £8 to £8 10s, diggers' chips good 45s to 50s; 220s cases were offered and 75 sold; the stock is 51!) tons.

Butter.—The market is dull, with less proved demand. Oats.—The market is firm.

Peas.—The market is quiet, and the demand is getting better. (Beans.—The market is steady and holders firm. y 4 Cooeksfoot Seed.—The market is quiet and buyers not keen to do business in cocksfoot seed.
