A RISE IN WHEAT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyrieht Received 16, H. 30 p.m. New York, April 15. There has been a sharp rise in wheat in Chicago, in consequence of reports from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky that the crops have been extensively damaged. Flour, £!) ss; country, £9 2a Cd: pollard, £6 10s; bran, £C. . i The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date April 12:—"J-rozen Meat,—There is more inquiry for mutton. The market is slightiy better for beef, and shows increased 'firmness for lamb."
