EMPIRE PICTURES. There was again a big attendance at the Empire Theatre last night, when the current programme, including the special attraction, "Pinocchio," was repeated. The pantomime, which is very prettily produced, created a favorable impression amongst the audience. A dramatic film of more than ordinary merit was Captain Brand's wife. The picture, which was conspicuous for its pathos and romance, dealt with sode in the early history of America, in the times of the troublesome Apaches. Smugglers and their unscrupulous and daring characteristics, and the final triumph of the long arm of the law, were realistically depicted in an impressive drama, entitled, "The Senorita's Conquest." A film of peculiar beauty was "Rhodendron Culture," which divided honors with an uproarious comic, "Lea Works in a Bank." On Wednesday night 'The Bells"—the play made famous by the late Sir Henry Irving—wiH be screened for the first time.
