Vessels arriving at Mobile from Panama report that there has been a violent eruption of the Cridique Peak, near Bceas-del-Toro. Hundreds of Indians perished, and the while village was wiped out. The volcano was never before known to be active. Clouds of dust were wafted out to sea, and rocks were thrown a hundred feet in the air.
