METHODIST CHURCH CIRCUIT
Rev. .T. W. Burton presided over the quarterly meeting of tue Methodist Church circuit on Wednesday night. Referring to the new phase of the "Brotherhood" movement initiated by the Whiteley Church officials, the chairman stated that other churches had joined in with the movement and, in- i stead of its being an effort in connec- | tion with one church, it would be entirely unsectarian. Meetings would be held in the Good Templar Hall. The meeting endorsed this arrangement. During the evening mention was made of the successful work being done by the new deaconess, Sister Florence, and appreciation was expressed of the value of 'her efforts iti connection with the Sunday School and among the poorer people of the town. According to a return the church membership had increased to 280,. The bal-ance-sheet showed a small profit on the quarter —the total credit balance being £7B 17s 3d. Mr. W. A. Collis was appointed an additional society steward for the Whiteley Church. Messrs, W. A, Collis and R. iMiiunder were appointed delegates to the local Bible Society Council.
