MOTOR CAR IN FLAMES.

SHOOTING PARTY'S EXCITING ADVENTURE. A motor car accident near Feilding oil Friday night last, and its sequel, was attended with disastrous results. It appears tliait a car, driven by Mr. Morris, of (Feilding,. was returning to Feilding with a party of enthusiasts, who had been out shooting. When approaching the Oroua bridge the axle broke and the occupants were all thrown out, one of the party being thrown over a fence. All escaped, however, except the motorman, who sustained a broken collar-bone. Another motorist who opportunely came along at the time conveyed the party to Palmerstoii North. The sequel to the occurrence was that a pair of spectacles were lost, and a stranger who proffered assistance in looking for them struck a match, which he unfortunately let drop on the benzinesoaked grass. There was immediately a big flare-up, the ear being enveloped in flames. All efforts to save the car were unavailing, and nothing was left except the metal work. The car was owned by Mr. C. V. Roberts, who only a few days ago refused to take out an insurance policy on it. The car was valued at £-250.
