A RACING ACCIDENT. Sydney, April 9. I The filly Mayrah was badly injured in the Nursery Handicap and was destroyed. The attendance at the races was over 40,000, and at the .show 77,000. INJURED JOCKEY SUCCUMBS. Received 9, 9.25 p.m. Sydney, April 9. The jockey Matthews, who fell with Bolton and Shanalian in the Nursery Handicap on Monday, dkd to-day from a fractured skull. Bolton has four ribs broken, and Shanalian has a badly injured leg.

The weather was fine in the early portion of the day, but in the middle of the afternoon heavy rain commenced, accompanied by thunder.
