Lamb market steady. Prices well maintained. Beef market quiet. Butter market quiet. Prices slightly weaker. Average prices for the week: Choicest New Zealand butter 1245, Australian 120s, Siberian 120s. Danish 12i)s, Argentina 120s. Cheese market steady. Average price for the week, finest New Zealand 745. Hemp market very quiet. Nothing doing. Output from Manila for the week 26,000 bales. Hops-.—Market firm, with improved demand for New Zealand hops. Prospects are favorable for early shipments.] Wool,—The market remains firm. ARGENTINE SHIPMENTS. I The Department has received the following cablegram from Buenos Aires, under date April G: — The following shipments of produce have been despatched from Argentina to United Kingdom ports during March, 1912 (compared with March, 1011): Frozen beef, 1912, 179,000 quarters; 1911, 255,130 quarters. Chilled beef, 201,000 and 90,084. Frozen mutton, 199,000 carcases and 159,870 carcases. Lamb, 60,000 and 193,053. Butter, 9510 cwt. and 900 ewt.
