A .QUESTION OF TRAINING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, April 4. The annual conference of the Canterbury branch of thjj Navy League was held here to-day, Processor Blunt preside ing. The chief discussion centred in a proposal by the Timaru branch, that H.M.S. Dart, now lying in Sydney harbor land Jot sale by the Admiralty, should be purchased as. a training ship for New Zealand boys. The scheme was considered too big for the League to undertake.' A motion was passed that a 1 sub-cominittee should gather information on the subject of extending tlhe present system, of sea training for New Zealand boys, with la ? iew to urging the Government, to enlarge thje afccommoda> tion proivided by the training ship Amokurai Mr. Craigie, MP., is to be asked to bring the matter before the House.
