ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchtirch, Last Night. Colin Simpson, a son of Mir. W. A. Simpson, accountant, of this city, died suddenly on the beach at Sumner yesterday. Simpson, who was about 18 years of age, was playing Imr-tbe-door with several other young men, when he suddenly fell exhausted and did not recover. When the local constable arrived on the scene he was dead. The death is supposed to be due to heart failure.
CARBOLIC POISONING. Napier Last Night, ft Maori child named Ngaro Hamuera, whose parents live at Petane, was .admitted to the hospital yesterday suffering from the effects of carbolic acid poisoning. The child swallowed the poison and died three quarters of an houlr later.
A MOTOR COLLISION. Napier, Last Night. A collision between a motor cycle and an ordinary bicycle occurred at Taradale yesterday, resulting in the rider of the motor cycle, Geolrge Grant, sustaining a compound fracture of the jaw and a broken nose. The rider of the bicycle, named Walker, was severely shaken. SUICIDE. Reefton, March 30. A stranger, supposed to be named Michael Sullivan, went out on the Big Rivelr this morning after breakfast, and was later found face downward inj fit creek with his throat cut.
