A battle at Jimenez, not at Jaure/, resulted in the defeat of the rebels. Heavy losses were sustained on both sides. The Federals are now attacking strongly and hold the rebels' position near the scene of the former battle. It is reported that the seaport at Mazatlan has been bombarded by a rebel gunboat, the rebels attacking the city from landwards simultaneously. There was considerable loss of life. The Federals are holding the city strongly.
