Australian.—Sheep, light not offering, heavy 3'/ B d, ewes 3d; lambs, best brands 4%d, fair quality 4y 2 d, inferior quality 4%d; beef, fores 3d, hinds 3 9-lfid. South American—Sheep, light not offering, heavy 3%d; lambs, first quality 4%d, second quality 4%d; beef, chilled fores 3y z d, hinds sd. Other meats unchanged. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. The following is the High Commissioner's cablegram under date London, March 23. General.—Thero is no change in the strike. Mutton.—Better demand, especially for light weights, which are scarce. Canterbury, small supply, nominally 4%d North Island 3%d. Lamb—Market firm.' The supply of Canterbury falls short of the demand. Nominally Canterbury 5%d, other-than Canterbury 5y 4 d. Beef.—The market is firm. Stocks of New Zealand beef on hand are light and supplies of American chilled beef small. New Zealand hinds 4d, fores 3y a d. Butter.—The market is quiet, but holders are firm, and the stock is moderate. The average price for the week for choicest New Zealand butter was 1275, Australian 1235, Argentine 122s Danish 1365, Siberian 1265. '
Cheese.—The market is quiet but firm. There is a small supply. The average pnee for the week for finest New Zealand cheese was 74s 6d, English cheddu--925. Hemp.—The market is quiet but small business is doing. Spot New Zealand good fair grade £2l 10s, fair grade £2O fair current Manila £2l 10s. Forward shipment New Zealand good fair grade £2l 15s, New Zealand fair grade £2O ss, fair current Manila £2l 15s. The output from Manila for the week was 28,000 bales. Kauri Gum.—The market is very quiet and nothing doing. Nominally there is no change in the prices, viz., Darkbrown selected rescraped £6 to £7 10s per cwt., dark brown £3 14s, scraped 80s to 95s per cwt., dark brown chips (drossy) 30s to 35s per cwt., rescraped pale amber £lO to £l2 per cwt., threequarter pale scraped £7 to £8 per cwt diggers' chips (good) 45s per cwt. The stock is 132 cases. _ Wool.—The market is firm, with an improved demand. Current quotations for Biadford tops: 36's (low crossbreds), y 2 d; 44s (medium crossbreds), Is l%d; 60's (halfbreds), Is sd; 56's (quarterbreds), Is 7y,d; 60's (merinos), 2s 0 ] / 2 d.

No important change in prices is expected Frozen Meat-There is a good demand for mutton and lamb. Market is firm but prices are unchanged. Beef.—The position is unchanged.
