DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC. By Telegraph-"-Press Association. Auckland, Monday. A young man named Eric Dennis Hacon, aged 27 years, was given an anaesthetic previous to an operation by a local doctor and died under the effects of the drug, it is supposed from heart failure.

SUDDEN DEATH. Taihape, Monday. Yesterday, John Duncan Buchanan, a member of the Daily Times' staff, was found dead in bed. He appeared to be in his usual health on Saturday, and evidently passed away in the night. Death was probably due to 'heart failure. His wife only lately died. Three children are left. A CHILD POISONED. Wairoa, Monday. A boy aged 2 years 8 months, son of Allen L. Allison, of Mangaone, died on Saturday from eating Quibcll's sheep dip. A DROWNING FATALITY. . Wairoa, Monday. A native named Willie Noe has been drowned at Waikaretaheke. DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. Raetihi, Monday. At the inquest on the body of Thomas Fernley, aged 40 years, evidence was given by a witness, who stated that deceased was a ship's pantrymaan, but formerly a registered practitioner in London. He called to see Fernley at the Salvation Army Home, and Fernley put out his hand as if to shake hands, but fell back suddenly and expired immediately.

IXQUESIS AT AUCKLAND. Auckland, Last Night. Five inquests were held by the Coroner to-day, which is a record for Auckland. Thomas McGregor, aged 00, was found lying dead on Saturday evening on the floor of a cottage which lie rented. The jury returned a verdict of death from heart failure accelerated by shock. In the case of Eric Denniss llacon, who died while under an anaesthetic, the jury returned a verdict of death from misadventure.
