THE RUGBY GAME. . SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM FOR ENGLAND. By Cable—Prws A»so«i*ticm—Copyright. ' Capetown, March 21. The Rugby Board has accepted the British invitation to send a team this year.

TUKAPA CLUB. ANNUAL REPORT. The eighteenth annual reporfy of the Tukapa Football Club to be presented at the annual meeting of members on Tuesday next is as follows:—The committee (of which Mr. W. D. Webster is hon secretary) congratulates members on a successful season. The report adds, inter alia: The finances of the club are in a most satisfactory condition, the credit balance being the largest in its history. This is largely due to members realising their responsibility in the matter of refunding travelling and insurance expenses incurred by the club. The playing members' subscriptions for the past season were well paid up, though the membership has decreased somewhat owing to the increased number of clubs being formed consequent on Saturday football being started. Though none of the cup championships fell to the club, the senior team fully maintained its reputation on the field of play and acted as runners-up for the premiership of this of the province. ■ They were also again successful in winning the Dan O'Brien Shield for the year, while the local seven-a-side tournament also fell to the club's representatives. The. juniors were not so successful, and had difficulty in meeting their engagements. The committee trust that this season will see the junior teams placed on a stronger footing, recognising that it is from the | ranks of the juniors that future seniors are to be looked for. The senior team played 9 matches, won 7, lost 2, points! for 109, against 23. Juniors: Played 10, won 2,- lost 8, points for 13, against 80. The committee sincerely regret the loss sustained.by the club by reason of the death of our late esteemed patron, Mt. Tisch. The committee also urges on members the necessity for training hard and individually contributing towards making 1912 a successful season.
