NEWTON KINO'S WEEKLY REPORT. At my supplementary sheep fair in the Douglas yards oh Friday, lf>ih inst., notwithstanding Urn wreu-iirtl weather, I had a heavy yarding of sheep, fully i.IUOO being penned. Buyers were present in good numbers, and bidding being very brisk I had a successful sale, practically every line being sold at the following rates:—Two-tooth ewes 12s 7d, 10s Id, Os lid, '9s, 2-tooth wethers 12s Id, 10s sd, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 13s, 12s 7d, 4-tooth wethers 13s and 12s Gd, 4-tooth ewes 12s lOd and 12s 7d, f.f.m. ewes 8s 7d, 8s Gd, 8s 2d, 7s lid, 7s Bd, Gs lid and 5s 9d, f.m. ewes 5s Id, ss, 4s 7d, 4s 4d, 3s lid and 3s 4d, 4-tooth to f.m. ewes 8s 6d, lambs 'Gs 3d, 6s 3d, Gs 2d, 5s 7d, rams % to 4 guineas.

At Toko on Monday I had a good entry and attendance. The better class' weaners sold well. Prices realised were: Mixed weaners 15s to 28s 6d, weaner heifers (best) £2 7s Gd, others £1 9s to £1 15s Gd, weaner steers £1 7s 6d, 18month heifers £2 12s Gd to £3 ss, store cows £1 17s to £3 2s Gd, forward cows £3 Os Gd to £4 10s, fat cows £5 Is, bulls £& os to £3 ss, f.m. ewes 3s lOd to os lid, f.f.m. ewes 7s 3d, 4, G and f.m. ewes 9s lOd, lambs 4s sd.

•In my Urenui yards on ( the same day my sheep and cattle pens were well filled and I had a representative attendance of buyers. Nearly all lines of sheep were well competed for, and with one or two exceptions every pen was sold at satisfactory prices. Bidding for cattle .was dull, there being little demand for weaners, and prices for other lines werfe generally in favor of buyers at the following rates:—Lambs ss, 5s Gd, 5s lid, 4-tooth weaners (good) 14s, f.f.m. ewes 5s 3d,, mixed ewes 9s lOd, fat wethers 15s, 2-tooth wethers 12s Bd, f.m. ewes 2s 9d, mixed weaners (best) £1 Lis, others! At my Stratford yards I had a big entry of cattle, all pens being well filled, 18-months and 2%-year steers being yarded in the majority, but were not enquired for. Ordinary weaners were dull, prices heing at lower rates. A nice pen of grade Jersey weaners realised, after good competition, £2 4s 6d. Other prices were: 'Weaner heifers £1 4s to £1 16s •d, poor 15s to 19s, weaner steers (poor) 15s, 18-months mixed £2 14s 6d, good 18-months steers £3 7s, choice 20months grade Jersey heifers in calf , £4 to £5 10s, cow and calf £3 lis, store cows £1 7s Gd to £2 13s, forward cows £3 10s to £4 7s, fat cows £4 12s Gd to £4 19i, prime fat heifers £5, 2 I / 2 -yoar steers (good) £4 12s 'Gd and £4 13s, bulls £2 7s 6d to £3 ss.

On the same day, for my suplementary sheep fair, at the Stratford yards, I had a good entry and a very successful sale. Bidding throughout for most lines was good. Prices obtained' being satisfactory. Some fine pens of 2-tooth ewes were penned, the best of these being sold at the hammer at from 14s to 15s. Other prices were: Lambs (best) Ges 4d to 7s Del. others 4s Id to 5s 3d, poor 2s 7d. 2-tooth wethers 12s, lis lOd, 10s 10' L 8s Id. 2-tooth ewes 15s, 14s and lis, 4-tooth wethers 13s 3d to 12s 7d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 12s fid, 2, 4 and 6-tootli ewes 10s 3d, f.f.m. ewes (good) 8s to !)s Bd. others 5s to *6s 7d, f.m. ewes 3s 3d to 4s 2d, rams lgn., old !?s.

At Stony River on Wednesday I had a,,' good entry and attendance. A large\ number of bad-colored weaners and 18-; months, cattle were entered for sale but did not obtain any competition. Two nice lots of 18-months cattle were yarded on account of Mr. Chas. Andrews, and sold readily after good competition. Prices realised were: Mixed weaners 18s 6d to £1 4s, weaner steers 19s 6d, weafier heifers £1 3s 0d to £1 9s 18-months heifers in calf £3 15s, 2'/ 2 -year heifers £3 lis to £4 lis, 18-months steers £3 7s to £3 7s Gd, store cows £1 4s to £3-, forward cows £3 8s fid to £4 3s, fat cows £4 3s to £5 10s, dairj cows £7, fat wethers 'l3s Bd. MATTHEWS & BENNETT'S REPORT. Matthews and Bennett report that there was a fair entry of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last, prices being about the same. Weaneys' (bad color) 4s to 6s, good do. £1 8s to £1 13s, forward cows £4 to £4 lis, bulls £2 to £3 15s, fat ewes lis -6d, heifers (r.w.b.) £3 12s 6d'to £3 15s, steers £3 to £3 17s (id. ' Fat Jpr bs —Tegs made 16s Dd to 19s 9d, ordinary freezers 12s 6d to 16s 6d, butchers' lambs 13s 7d to 15s, and an extra heavy pen 21s Cd. Several lots were taken by graziers at 13s to 14s, and a few other lines were withdrawn at lis lOd to 15s Id. Shorn lambs made lis lOd to 13s 7d. Fat sheep —Prime wethers 17s 6d to 20s, lighter 14s to'l7s, prime ewes 13s to 17s 3d, others 9s to 12s 6d. Fat cattle —Steers ;made £8 to £ll, heifers £6 to £9 2s 6d, cows £5 10s to £8 10s (equal to 20s to 25sper 1001b). Veal calves formed a small entr.y r and sold at >6s to 565, according to weight and quality. BTONSIDE. , At Burnside 155 fat cattle were yarded. Prices were about the same as those ruling last week. Prime bullocks £l2 to £l3 10s, extra to £ls, medium £ll to £ll 10s, light and inferior £8 to £9 10s, good heifers £8 lis to £lO, extra to £ll 10s, medium £7 to £B, light and inferior £5 10s •fc'o £8 10s. Fat sheep—2s32 penned, consisting principally of ewes, .wjth a few pens of fair quality wethers. At thti commencement of the sale prices were on a par with last week's rates, but towards the finish wetliers were fully Is and ewes Is to Is 6d firmer. Good wethers 18s fid to 20s, extra to 23s 3d, medium 16s 6d to- 17s 6d, light and inferior 14s to 15s 6d, good ewes 18s to 19s, extra to 23s 3d, medium 15s to 17s, light and inferior lis to 13s.

Fat lambs—l6l3 penned. The quality all round was considerably better than it has been of late. Competition was good, and in sympathy with the slight rise in the London market prices improved to the extent of Od to 9d per head. Good 14s >6d to 15s -od, extra to 17s, medium 13s to 14s, light and inferior lis to 12 s- Cd.

JOIIXSONVILLE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd.; report:—Prime sheep and' cattle came forward in the usual number. There was a good demand for all stock at recent prices, and a good clearing was made. Prime heavy bullocks £9 12s Od to .£lO 2s Od, lighter £8 17s Od to £9 ss, plain £8 10s to £8 12s 6d, vealers £1 to £1 os, prime heavy wethers 17s Id to 17s Od, medium wethers 15s to 15s 7d, prime ewes 14s 3d to-14s lOd, medium ewes 12s to 12s Od. prime lambs 12s (id to 12s lid, good lambs lis to lis l()d, plain 10s to 10s 3d. MASTERTON. Messrs Abraham and "Williams. Ltd., report as follows on their Mastcrtoii sale: —We had a heavy yarding of sheep and a moderate one of cattle. We have to report a successful sale, everything being disposed of with the exception of two pens of sheep. Two-tooth ewes 9s lid to 13s 9d (according to quality and condition), 4 and 0-tooth ewes 13s 7d, medium lambs 7s 3d, cull lambs 5s Id. 2-tooth Lincoln rams £2 to £2 2s, forward heifers £4 ss, fat heifers (light) £4 10s, fat cow's (light) £3 18s, forward cows £3 13s to £3 15s.
