CHARGES OF EXCESSIVE DRINKING , DENIED. . By Telegraph—Press Association. Hamilton, Tuesday. At a special meeting of the Waikato No-license Council it -was resolved that the following resolution be sent to General Gredtey-: "This council, while appreciating the great efforts being made for national jdefence, views with alarm the; conduct' of Territorials on Saturday night and the fact- that so many of them were under the influence of liquor." They state that they visited the hotels as there was a possibility that youths under- age mipht .be. procuring "drink., but tner e were no signs of drunkenness, j They, saw a number of Territorials drinking atone hotel, but were satisfied that they were all over age. There was I a possibility of drink being smuggle'-! out,-but they saw nothing more than] the usual hilarity met with among holiday crowds. On St. Patrick's Dav one Territorial out of the whole batch was 'before' the court on a charge of inebriety. A Territorial officer, interviewed, said that the rules against taking liquor into camp 'wene stringent, and no excessive drinking,.had been reported during the week's camp. ' •
