LEOPARD IN AN AUDIENCE.
STAMPEDE M A MENAGERIE. " I Nottingham, ' A sensational incident occurred last night at Bostock's Jungle at Nottingham during a performance by Mme. Morrelli with a troupe of leopards and jaguars. , Two of the leopards began to fight in the arena. Mme, Morrelli belabored the animals with her whip to separate them. Suddenly one of the leopards leaped up to the top of the iron bar surrounding, the arena, and bounded down among the audience. The panic-stricken people rushed mad- ' ly over chairs and barriers to the doors. Fortunate the. leap from the top of the arena partially stunned the leopard, and attendants, by firing pistols and using prongs, drove it back from the spectators.
