At tli" rnry-iry into the charge of conspiracy against Miss Pankhurst and Mesdames Lawrence and Tuke, a telegraphic code was revealed whereby the names of trees and plants were used to designate members of the Cabinet and other public men, and the names of birds were used to convey instructions in connection with the campaign of violence.
