WELLINGTON STEAMER SERVICE.
To the Editor. Sir,—lt is with great satisfaction that I view that the New Plymouth Chamber of Commerce is moving in the matter of a better shipping service with Wellington, and I would suggest that they get the eo-operation of the Inglewood, Stratford, and Eltham Chambers and also the Wellington Chamber, whose interest it largely affects. It is bad enough to have to wait for our goods coming from Wellington, but when they are carried on "to Onchunga and we have to wait till the boat returns, it is much -tforse (for this is often done by the Union Company's boats), especially when one is waiting for goods that are urgently required. It is high time another company started running in opposition to the present company, who seem at present to have a monopoly which is not fair to business people, j trust that you and the Chamber will not let the matter Test until we get a better service.—l am, etc., A BUSINESS MAN. Inglewood, March 14.
