REV. CHAPMAN'S HETERDOXY.

T« the Editor. Sir, —In consideration of the above, allow an admirer through your valuable paper to commend Mr. Chapman on the manner in which he has stood for growth in human conception of things religious. It is certainly a minister's place, above all others, to probe how far the reading of the Orthodox Bible compares with modern understanding in a true scientific sense. Many of our ministers know that many Bible statements as materially given are beyond reasonable acceptance to man's spiritual understanding, but they have not had the courage to declare it openly. In respect to this subject, I sincerely feel gratified in expressing admiration for one who had the courage of his convictions and expressed them openly—l am, etc., UPHOLDER OP TRUTH.
