FIGHTING AT TOBRUK. , THE TURKS ROUTED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 14, 9.25 p.m. Rome, March 14. battalions of infantry, with five battenrs, attacked ail oasis. As they emerged from the Grand Redoubt the men were under heavy fire from GOOO Turks. The Italians carried out a successful flanking movement, and after six hours the Turks fled, and were pursued at the bayonet point. Four hundred bodies were discovered in the oasis alone, and the Turks carried off many others before the retreat developed into a rout.
ITALIANS DRIVEN ABOARD SHIPS. • Received 14, 9.25 p.m. Constantinople, March 14. The official account of the fighting at Tobruk on the lltli states that the Turks compelled 'the Italians to ,retreat from the entrenchments and take refuge aboard their ships, the Turks capturing rifles and ammunition. The Turkish loss was IS killed and £>B slightly wounded.
HEAVY CASUALTIES. Rome, March 13. The Italians at Tobruk repulsed a vigorous Turco-Arab attack, both sides attempting flanking movements. The Italians' losses were 13 killed, and 73 wounded. Three Italian officers and 26 men were killed near Benghazi yesterday, and seven officers and 55 men wounded. Two 'bases north-east of Fojat have 'been occupied. TURKS LOSE HEAVILY. Tripoli, March 13. One thousand Turks and Arabs were killed near Benghazi yesterday, chiefly through bayonet charges. TURKS CLAIM THE VICTORY. Constantinople, March 13. Edhem Pasha reports a success at Tobruk, and states that the Italian casual-; ties were 2000. i
