LICENSING ELECTIONS

By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Yesterday. Very little interest was taken in the election of the Hawke's Bay Licensing Committee. With two small returns to come, Messrs. B. C. McCormick, G. T. Roach, A. L. D. Fraser, C. L. Maekersey, T. Donovan and W. Lane are leading, but the figures to come may reverse the positions of the two last named. There are over 6000 names on the roll, but the highest polled by one candidate was 524. Oroua, Yesterday. At the licensing election, J. C. Cobbe and the Rev. G. Budd, the only nolicense candidates, headed the poll. The other elected were E. Goodbehere, J. Bruce and E. Short.
