PETROLEUM NEWS.

THE BIG COMPANY. TO BE FLOATED NEXT MONTH. It is the intention of the promoters to put the Taranaki Oil Wells Company on the market next month. . The sharelist will probably be opened on the 11th and close pn the 21st. It is expected that the English money market will be quite favorable 'by then. It is the opinion of many people qualified to judge that New Zealand will take up all the shares placed on the market, so favorable is the feeling felt towards the industry. No doubt this feeling has to a large extent been brought about by the latest developments on the field, particularly at No. 5, where it has been conclusively shown that profitable'' oil can be got at a shallow horizon. The outlook for the industry was never so encouraging as it is to-day. There -is nothing fresh to report from the bores, Nos. 5, 3, and 2 producing as steadily as usual.
