General Baden-Powell addressed a Scouts' gathering at Portland, Oregon, and was continually interrupted by Socialists on the ground that militarism was engendered. He patiently discussed the objections, and finally the leader of the Socialists admitted that he misunderstood the scope and meaning of the movement.
