A NEW FAD A present-day fad among American finis is to meet at the different homes, spend the afternoon working for what (nev call their "hope chest." and then have a sociable enp of tea. The "hope chest" is what has been'known for many years as a, "trouuseau chest," or "the bottom drawer." as it is called in Scotland . The cirls of former days have done much the same work with the same hopes, but only the modern girl (who really is far less inclined to feel that marriage is her only ambition) has given it this name. Even quite young schoolgirls are starting a chest.
