DANNEVIRKE MEETING. FIRST DAY'S RESULTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannvirke, Last Night. The autumn meeting of the Dannevirke Racinb Club commenced to-day. The weather was fine until four o'clock, when a slight shower fell. The fields were exceptionally large, averaging thirteen starters for seven events. The sum of £10,500 was put through the tote for seven races, as against £9432 for eight events on the corresponding day last year. Results:— '
Trial Stakes.—Miss Augusta 1, Galtee 2, Epworth 3. Won by a short head. Scratched: First Marshall, Aviator, Miss Jean, Diavolo, Patronale, Black Lupin and Millbanks. Time, 52sec. Dannevirke Cup, 1% miles.—Sea Queen 1, Cork 2, Miscal 3. Also started: Aberbrothock, Sublime, Kilosteri, Te Puia, Vi, Meremere, Ariom, Kauroa, Loch Maben, and Queen of Scots. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 2min 11 4-ssec. Tahoraiti Hack Welter.—Mangaroa 1, Happy New Year 2, Adare 3. Scratched: Tripoli, Bonnie Boy, Te Waharoa, Tuai tahi, Bercola, Field Fare, Mosella, Prince | Eddie, Lady Muska and St. Gozo. Won by two lengths, with a length between second and third. Time, lmin 30sec.
Mursery Handicap.—Evadne 1, Peroneal 2, Master Kilcheran 3. All started. .Won by a length. Time, lmin 5 l-ssec.
Electric Handicap—Thrave 1, Makara 2, Septimus 3. Scratched: Dan, Wai, Ngakau and Epworth. Won by a length. Time, lmin 4 l-ssec. Tamaki Welter.—Khamsin 1, Seatondale 2, Sovoney 3.
