AUCKLAND LABOR TROUBLES
MEN AGAINST IMMEDIATE STRIKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The General Laborers' Union meeting to-night was attended by about 400' or 600 members only. Mr. P. Eraser (president) occupied the chair,-and, the federation officials were present. The meeting, which was not open to the press, occupied about three hours, but it is understood that the matters were referred to the Federation of Labor again, and that the general tone of the meeting was> against an immediate strike, as the time was inopportune, as the employers were ready and the men were not. The Auckland Suburban Local Bodies' Association decided to-night to recommend the local bodies which, its members represent to adopt the schedule 1 of wages which the City Council has der cided to pay. v

Auckland, Wednesday.. _ A matter having an important bearing on the threatened strike by the general laborers is the registration at the Arbitration Court of a new union, to be called the Auckland and Suburban Local Bodies Laborers' Union of Workers, 150 strong.
