,THE WAIRAU BRIDGE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Tuesday. The first pile of the bridge to be built over the Wairau river, on the NelsonBlenheim road, was driven yesterday by Mr. McCallum, member for the district. The bridge is to cost £10,934, half of which will be borne by the Government and the other, half by local bodies. BREACH ,OF LICENSING LAW. Hamilton, Tuesdav. Mrs. Moriarity, licensee of the Frankton Junction Hotel, was fined £2O and costs and her license endorsed for allowing drunkenness 'on her premises. The case rose out of a brawl in November, when Axel Snellinge. stabbed three men.
