MANAGERS' DEMANDS. , "'(From Our Warea Correspondent.) A thing that will soon cause a little stir amongst the farmers of Taranaki and other farming districts of the North Island will be the demands of the Cheese Factory Union of the South, Island, where meetings have been held and the demands, formulated. It has been decided to proceed with the demands in order that the Arbitration Court award may be obtemeflrj&efore next season's contracts are let. It means that if the South Island obtains- their demands, it Won't be long before the North Island managers are after the same thing. The following are the demands:— | Managers' salaries. The minimum' salary to be paid to men employed as ' dairy cheese factory managers shall be- l j For managers of first-class cheese fac- { tones, £!365 per annum; managers of i second' class, £320; third class, £280; f fourth class, £250; fifth class, £225 : sixth class, £200; seventh class, £175-1 eighth class, £156. Classification of cheese factories —A first-class factory shall be one which has 70,0001bs during the month of DecemberwmL ° la f' ™> Q ? ms > third «»*«£ o0,Q001bs; fourth class, 40,0001bs; fifth class, 30,0001bs; sixth class, 20,0001bs- '.
