For heavy carcases prices are: Canterbury 4%d (nominal), North Island 3%d. Lamb: Market quiet. Canterbury 5y 2 d, other than Canterbury sd. Beef.—Market dull. The stocks of beef on hand are light and cannot be quoted. Butter.—The market is lifeless, there being a poor demand. The average pricefor the week for choicest New Zealand butter i« 1295, Australian 1255, Argentine 1255, Danish 1375, Siberian 1275! Chese.—The market is firm. There is a good idemand. The average price for the week for finest New Zealand cheese per cwt. is: White 70s 6d, colored 70s. Hemp.—The market is steady, but the demand only moderate. New Zealand good fair grade £2l 10s, fair grade £2O 15s, forward shipment at same price. Current Manila £2l 10s, forward shipment fair current Manila £22. The output for the week from Manila was 13.000 bales. Wheat.—The market is firm, owing to the reduced supply. New Zealand long-. berried wheat, spot, ex granary (per quarter of 3841b5), 26s 6d (nominal). I Beans.—Market firm, owing to reduced | supplies. New Zealand beans r.a.q. (old crop), 5041b5, 30s (nominal). Peas.—Market quiet, with a tendency in favor x>i buyers. New Zealand peas (partridge), 504l'bs, 38s (nominal). LONDON WOOL SALES POSTPONED. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, report having received the following cable through their London office, dated February 29:—"Owing to the coal strike the wool sales have been postponed indefi'n- I itely."
