WAITARA v. NEW PLYMOUTH. New Plymouth journeyed out to Waitara yesterday and met defeat at the hands of the local elevea after, a close finish. Batting first, the visitors compiled 96 runs as the result of about an hour and three-quarters' play. New Plymouth fielded badly, and with two wickets to fall Waitara wanted about 15 runs to win. High School scored 47, Monteath 13 and Ewing 11 being the only ones to get into double figures.
