WAITARA v. NEW PLYMOUTH. New Plymouth journeyed out to Waitara yesterday and met defeat at the hands of the local elevea after, a close finish. Batting first, the visitors compiled 96 runs as the result of about an hour and three-quarters' play. New Plymouth fielded badly, and with two wickets to fall Waitara wanted about 15 runs to win.
