FIRE ESCAPES.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—Can you explain why the Fire Board's superintendent compelled the unfortunate builder of a public hall recently erected in this town, to pull out a certain fire-escape door and substitute a wider one, while he now allows a door of the dimensions he once condemned, to pass as satisfactory in the new Empire Theatre.—l am, etc., ' CONUNDRUM.
