URUGUAYAN COMMISSION.
STUDENTS VISITING NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last' Night. The special commission of agricultural engineers sent by I the Uruguayan Government to studyi the pastoral, agricultural and live stock industries in Europe, North America, and Australasia, arrived at the Bluff to-day from Melbourne, and will go on to Timaru by the first express to-morrow. These men are'all students and all young (the.eldest is 26). They are picked from different colleges and the scheme is that each of them will furnish an independent report, so that from the recommendation of the multitude the Uruguayan Government way extract essential wisdom. Politically (their country's polities) they are about evenly balanced—'half "red'! and half <<Dlue " They are especially interested in pastoral pursuits, their country being largely pastoral. They liked Australia and were greatly impressed by Hawkesbury College. There is nothing like it in their country. They all speak Spanish and French, and some of them English.
