Dr. Wollaston, of Melbourne, left last week for his home after spending a long vacation at New Plymouth. A Berlin cable reports the death of the Grand Duke of Luxemberg. He will be succeeded by his daughter Mary . A Nap'ier telegram states that Mr. W. Simon, manager of Blythe's, Napier, has been appointed manager of the D.1.C., Wellington, to succeed. Mr. Corrigan. At Hunterville on Saturday, where she is on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Street. Mrs. W. Sole, sen., of New Plymouth, had the misfortune to slip and fracture her thigh. The Kev. J. W. Burton and Mr E. N. L. Okey left by the Rarawa last night for Auckland to attend the Methodist Conference, which opens in that city on Thursday next. The death occurred on Saturday of Mrs. J. H. Greville, of Hawera, aged eighty years. The deceased came to New Zealand with her husband in 1860, settling first at Invercargill. In 1864 she went to Christchurch and the next year took up residence in Hokitika, remaining there until 1877, when she came .to Wellington. After residing in Welling-" ton for seven years she went to Pahiatua, and stayed there until 1901. During the last ten years she was residing fn Hawera. Her living descendants number forty-eight, including four,sons, two daughters, thirty-eight grand-children, and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, who is now seventy-nine, is still living at Hawera. To within a few months 'of her death deceased had enjoyed excellent health, and though she had been ailing during the last few months, all her faculties were preserved to the last.
