.»i MISS ROSINA BUCKMAN.
The appearance of Miss Rosina Buckman in her native town after her achievement of a definite place, in vocal art is an occasion of some moment. It has to be ■emphasised that Miss Buckman is a brilliant artist and one of Taranaki's few contributions to the artistic world. Miss Buekman does not appeal solely .on account of her voice or its production, but because she is temperamentally capable of infusing life and emotion into her work. The test of a singer's power is not in her ability to appeal merely to the musically educated critic, but to the whole of the public. This is the end and aim of all true art—to please the people. On Wednesday evening, Miss Buckman will sing to the people of New Plymouth, and it is hoped tW, the people will confirm the judg- '■ t that she has vocal poweTg of app •:■'. of a very special kind.
