INVERCARGILL WOOL SALES.
Bj Telegraph—Press As»opi«tioai. Invercargill, Last Night. The last wool sale of the local series to-day was poorly attended. There was a small catalogue of 4000 bales of wool, many of which were passed in. The New, Zealand mills were represented, and there was no direct American competition, i There was not a good selection offered, and prices showed a drop of to %d all round. The bulk of the wool sold was bought by Bradford buyers. Prices, however, were not on U trade basis, the purchases being made really for speculative purposes on the chances of a demand later on from America. Latest advices from the Continent indicate that wool there is down. Buyers, state that the labor troubles have knocked thia bottom out of the market, wool being a very sensitive barometer, and in view of the Continent strikes it is stated that the final sale at Wellington is likely to be seriously affected.
