In a paper read at the London School of Economies on "The Progress of Australia and New Zealand" it was stated that they were destined at no distant date to carry n population of n-ores of millions. They were essentially white men's countries. The author detailed reasons for anticipating rapid and giant strides, and blamed tke Governments for inadequate passenger services. Sir W. Hall-Jones presided. emigrants for Australia. i raxsport difficulty. Received 23. 0.50 p.m. London, February 23. The British Australasian estimates that the Commonwealth is in -danger of losing 50,000 emigrants this year through insufficient transport accommodation.
