MAN BURNED TO DEATH.
NARROW ESCAPE OF OTHERS.
By Telegraph—Press Associatien. Thames, Monday. The Royal Mair Private Hotel, owned and occupied by Geo. Crosby, was completely destroyed by at Paeroa. Several boarders had narrow in night attire. The fire is believed to have commenced in the room of Scotty Preston, an engineer of 24, who was burned to death, after a vain attempt had been made to reach his room. The insurance on the building was £BOO, and on the furniture £650. Mr. Crosby is a heavy loser.
