A MISSING CLERK,
By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Yesterday. B. Des Forges, the missing gasworks clerk, was seen in Picton on Monday night. He stayed at a boarding-house, and left after paying his account in the morning. He has not been seen since, and Tt is supposed he may have gone down the Sounds. The police are inquiring.
POWER FROM WAIHORA FALLS. Whangarei, Yesterday. The Mayor has received notificatipn from the Minister for Works that the Government will not itself undertake the Wairoa fall hydro-electric scheme, but the Whangarei Borough Council may do so, that licenses authorising the use of the falls for motive power purposes, also for the construction and use of electric lines, will be issued if the legislative requirements be conformed with.
